Caring for your Tattoo
For 3-10 days after treatment, the procedure area can experience:
- Tightness/swelling
- Tenderness
- Redness
- Flaking
- Dryness
- Itching
These symptoms can appear for 10 days or until the area appears to have healed. This is perfectly natural and a part of the healing process.
Allow skin to naturally dry heal for 2 days and then follow the procedure information.
Daily Routine
- Use a gentle face cleaner and avoid the treatment area.
- If the treatment area does get wet, pat dry gently with a tissue or clean towel.
- For eyebrows: From day three apply vitamin A&D cream to the area. Use a cotton bud to apply once a day, for 10 days. Wash your hands before and after application and use a clean bud each time to avoid infection.
- For eyeliner: Apply vitamin A&D cream twice a day for 10 days. Wash your hands before and after application and use a clean bud each time to avoid infection.
- For lipliner: Apply a small amount of vitamin A&D cream every time you feel your lips are dry. Wash your hands before and after application and use a clean bud each time to avoid infection.
Avoid
- Gym and excess sweating for 7 days and swimming as chlorine can affect result causing fading.Tightness/swelling
- Do not use makeup for 7-10 days on or around the treatment area.
- Do not expose the treated area to extreme heat or cold until completely healed, including saunas, sunbathing, & tanning beds.
- Do not scratch, pick, itch, or rub the treatment area as this will cause uneven healing, infection and scarring.
PLEASE REMEMBER that the colour is up to 50% darker immediately after treatment. It will fade after 5-10 days and the true colour will come through 4-8 weeks after the initial treatment. Colour for certain procedures, such as the lips, may seem to disappear but this is a part of the healing process. While healing eyebrows or lip liner almost moulds into the skin and the result will be very natural. The colour will re-appear as the healing process progresses.
General post-procedure information
To maintain pigment for as long as possible, avoid excessive exposure to UV rays and the sun. Use a sun block or moisturiser with a high SPF.
Occasional maintenance procedures can help to keep your micro-blading procedure in good condition.
If you are planning to undergo an MRI scan, chemical peel or similar procedure, please inform your doctor that you have had permanent cosmetics.
We advise clients to have any anti-wrinkle treatments to the forehead and corrugator (between brows) before eyebrow micro-blading. These treatments can cause unevenness of the brows and may leave one higher than the other.
